The dam’s main purpose is to irrigate close to 25000 hectares in Nirmal district. Also known as the Godavari North Canal project, the structure was built between 1949 and 1965.

Nirmal, 110 km from Adilabad and 267 km from Hyderabad, Kadam Dam is located at Kaddam Peddur in Nirmal District of Telangana.
Kaddam reservoir is on river Kaddam, a tributary river of Godavari. This is very nice place to visit with family and kids. Sunset and sunrise view from the dam is superb. We went for morning walk on the dam and experience was awesome with superb sunrise view and water birds chirping. There is boating option as well but it’s not well maintained and safe. Boating should have been better and take near to the hills and deeper in the reservoir. We stayed a nearby Haritha hotel just 100 m from the dam. Hotel is very good for family and spending some quality time within the nature and disconnected from wifi, since this hotel has no wifi service.
Guys comment your views do we need wifi service when we are on vacation with family to spend quality time.
Hotel staffs are good and very helpful. This hotel has separate cottages with balcony and lobby area for beautiful view. Overall it was a nice place to stay and visit others nearby spot like Kawal tiger reserve, Deer park, Kuntla waterfall and Pochera waterfall. The road trip towards the Kawal tiger reserve was awesome.
Beautiful place and And here boating also there. Rainy season is the time to visit this place. Try matka chai here. Trees cover both sides of the road while traveling to this place. It was so awesome ride. Enjoyed the greenary of adilabad forest. Ride carefully on this road wild animals cross road.
Beautiful place to visit. We can see so many mountains at back of the reservoir. So many birds are there near mission Bhaghiratha pumping house and boating point.down side road leads us to rocky canal.When the dam gates open water rushes down through this canal.

It's ok to spend some time with family , boating also started here which is good , damn is constructed long back and maintenance is ok , better to bring your own food when your coming with family, near by damn one park is there where children can play for some time
One request is don't go near to spilway to take selfies to put your life in risk
A very good dam, when we visited it had 12 doors (out of 18) opened and that made the visit special. We were mesmerized by the way water behaved. It was scary as well as exciting. Seeing the water flow with such huge gush was good to see and make my son watch it. It's worth a visit in monsoon time. They have boating also but it would be closed when doors are open. There is a Haritha very close by and a good option to stay overnight if want to.
